There was once a time not long ago where we could have General Hospital on and look down for a minute, maybe even leave the room, but keep the sound up. This week proved those days are GONE!
We started getting that new feeling when it didn’t take Original Jason (Steve Burton) a month on a steam ship to get home from Russia. Suddenly, we started feelings things would go fast and boy have they–and NOT just with Jason.
In the course of the last few weeks, Griffin (Matt Cohen) found Ava (Maura West) in Russia, slept with Ava, left the priesthood, and then slept with Ava again.
Meanwhile, Ava also ran into her buddy ‘Patient 6,’ filled him in on PC life, took a note to Sonny for him, and figured out he’s another Jason Morgan–and told Griffin what’s been going on because wow, she didn’t keep a secret from her new man.
During this time, Current Jason (Billy Miller) and Sam (Kelly Monaco) bought a media company, enjoyed a night in NYC, almost ran into Original Jason, broke up with Sonny and Carly, threw a big party, and Sam managed to get kidnapped while Elizabeth (Rebecca Herbst) managed to get shot.
The party also featured Sonny (Maurice Benard), who had now spent two days with Original Jason, some goons, a confused Carly (Laura Wright) and Monica (Leslie Charleson), and Original Jason jumping through a skylight with a gun and not even getting what would amount to a paper cut. WOW!
And Andre (Anthony Montgomery)? Well, he’s not a good guy after all and knows all about the two Jasons, so how do you like them apples?

Franco (Roger Howarth) never would have guessed because he’s too busy keeping up with his mother’s stories about where the second Jason went as a child. And frankly so are we.
Let’s not forget Nelle (Chloe Lanier). Michael (Chad Duell) bought her an apartment, almost broke up with her about 10 times, finally did break up with her while learning she might have drowned a fiancé, is a champion swimmer named Janelle and could have saved him, and that she spent time in a mental hospital.
Finally, he did break up with her, but we have to wonder how fast he’ll be back with her–by next week–or what she’s going to do to him next.
Oh, and today if you blinked, you missed Cassandra (Jessica Tuck) blackmailing Valentin (James Patrick Stuart) with a picture of Claudette–someone she said can be very chatty, so we guess she’s still alive out there somewhere.
Next week, we know Jason and Jason lay eyes on each other. Carly and Monica already saw Original Recipe and Sam is about to be rescued by him. If we look away for a second, we’ll probably miss it.
Remember that old adage about missing months worth of soaps and putting them back on for the same thing happening? Well, GH has proven that to be decidedly false, and we couldn’t be happier.
