For some reason, Franco agreed to go along with Jordan’s ridiculous (and frankly, sadistic) plan on General Hospital to plead guilty to being Port Charles’ latest serial killer in order to draw the actual killer out.
While the cops don’t know it’s Ryan they seek, two more of his victims are stowed away in the basement at Ferncliff — just where Franco (Roger Howarth) is headed. Poor Kevin (Jon Lindstrom) has been stuck there since the summer and now Laura (Genie Francis) is caught there with him. But, hey, at least their together.
And alive. Yes, at least they are alive, thanks to Kevin’s quick thinking. Franco is the most hated man in Port Charles right now, especially by those who believed in him and were shocked by his plea.
Yet, thanks to Scott (Kin Shriner), Franco is being sent to Ferncliff, which puts him in the perfect position to not only help Jordan (Briana Nicole Henry), but perhaps do some snooping and rescue Laura and Kevin, thus solving the mystery Jordan can’t solve herself.
And saving Laura could go a long way to making things up to Liz because we fully expect she will be furious, even when the truth comes out that Franco was just helping the good guys.
She will be angry he didn’t confide in her beforehand and we don’t blame her.
Saving Laura, whom Liz has idolized since her youth and is Aiden’s grandmother, could help pave the way to softening Liz’s heart towards Franco. But we don’t think the merry band at Ferncliff will be the ones to bring down Ryan.
Selfishly, we’d like to see Ava (Maura West) get that privilege, especially since she’s fallen hard for Ryan and he did kill her daughter.
As satisfying as it was to see Laura and Kevin reunite and take on Ryan in the small way they could, a showdown with Ava will be everything — and we can’t wait!
(However, we must imagine the HUMOR and entertainment value when Franco starts seeing double.)
