Andre Maddox’s name is on the lips of a few Port Charles citizens once again on General Hospital and for good reason. With memory swapping being front and center again, two years after Jason’s return to town alerted Drew to what had happened to him, the “good” doc is needed to untwist this sordid mess.
It’s not like anyone can count on that horrible Dr. Arthur Cabot (Time Winters) to undo the damage he’s inflicted on Franco (Roger Howarth), robbing him of the happiness he’d finally found with Elizabeth (Rebecca Herbst) and her boys. Who else besides Andre (Anthony Montgomery) has the knowledge to help? But would he?
Andre seemed to be genuinely contrite about what happened to Drew (Billy Miller). What if he has put his time away from Port Charles to good use, trying to find a way to make things up to Drew in a way that wouldn’t cost him the life he’s managed to carve out for himself since having the procedure done?
Then again, much has been about the fact that Franco was not a perfect DNA match to Drew (though they are cousins) and therefore all bets are off on what everyone can expect. Perhaps Andre knows what those repercussions would look like or how to exploit that fact?
Is there a place in the brain that can be stimulated to reignite those memories of Franco’s? Perhaps Andre has realized that the memories are locked away in a particular section and has come up with a way to release them. But will Andre be willing to try?
For someone who has felt a little horrible about how his supposed research to find a cure for Alzheimer’s was bastardized for evil purposes, you’d think he’d make himself a bit more available should Drew need him. At the very least, if Drew is the one to find him, perhaps Andre would be more willing to help.
And if Andre can help Franco, is there a chance that Drew’s own memories could somehow be released as well without harming him? And is there any way all of this can be solved before Billy Miller leaves GH? Guess we’ll have to stay tuned to find out. General Hospital (GH) airs weekdays on ABC.
