It hasn’t made sense to us from the start. Betsy told Franco he tried to kill Drew on General Hospital (GH) when they were three years old, but she sent Drew away and not Franco.
We also weren’t all that into this idea of Franco (Roger Howarth) thinking he was a three-year-old with killer instincts and despite his serial-killing past (explained away by a brain tumor), we never really bought that plot point.
Finally, Franco remembered the moment when it happened yesterday and it looks like he really did push Drew (Billy Miller) down the stairs. However, it also looked like that wasn’t the plan. He just wanted Drew to walk down those basement stairs on his own, but a defiant Drew didn’t want to.
Franco (known as Bobby then) seemed frightened and like he needed him and Drew to be out of sight and out of mind. Was there someone up those stairs to be afraid of? And might his name have been Jim Harvey (Greg Evigan).
It’s weird enough that this guy shows up in town claiming he once dated Betsy and knew little Bobby and Andy, but we KNOW this guy is shadier than a forrest and there is more to just an old family friend here.
Might Jim have been abusing the boys? Did they learn one of his secrets? Even when we had the second flashback today and Franco’s absolute present-day terror, we could tell he did not want to hurt the boy he thought of as a brother. And we now know, Jim was up there.
Tomorrow, Franco will finally confront this man who seems to know very little and way too much at the same time. What will he learn?
