Sure, Liz attended a holiday ball with Franco, but that was not a date. In fact, he was still with Nina at the time on General Hospital (GH).
But, six months later she did agree to go on a second date with him AFTER Ric practically dared her to do it by telling her how dangerous Franco is. Liz confessed this to Franco at The Floating Rib, so he decided she needed to get to know him a little better.
They ended up at his art studio where they shared some wine and he opened up about his work. Liz was slightly disturbed, but also quite intrigued and the rest is pretty much history.
