Jason and Sam finally got it together after years of near misses, danger, shootings, kidnappings, and other lovers on General Hospital (GH).
They were happy and in a good place, but someone whispered the word “marriage” in Jason’s ear and it wasn’t Sam. In the above scenes, Sam tries to tell Jason she doesn’t need a piece of paper to say they love each other and doesn’t want to put pressure on him.
Jason was a little taken aback because he knew there would never be anyone else for him and marriage seemed to be the next logical step. Soon, Sam learned it was Maxie who planted the marriage bug and Sam was furious.

Of course, a few months later the pair really did marry at the Noodle Buddha after Maxie somehow managed to lose Sam’s engagement ring–for just a little while.
