On General Hospital, Patrick made quite a family with Anna’s daughter, Robin and their two children. As Billy Abbott, Jason Thompson appears in Abbott family photos on display on The Young and the Restless. In real life, the actor came across a selection of family snapshots, giving his fans an inside look into his own childhood.
Jason Thompson Shares Childhood Memories
“I came across some old photos while moving. 1st, I wish my dad kept that suit,” Thompson shared on Instagram. 2nd, I never liked having my picture taken. I remember crying often, or at least there are plenty of photographs of me crying. And when I did, I was the kid to make the faces. Probably why I always felt more comfortable in costume. Time flies.”
Thompson is known to soap fans not only as Billy on YR but also as Dr. Patrick Drake on General Hospital, the role he played for over a decade starting in 2005.

While his three siblings, Jack (Peter Bergman), Ashley (Eileen Davidson), and Traci (Beth Maitland) all had the same mother, the late Dina (Marla Adams), Billy’s mom is Jill (Jess Walton). Billy has had three children — the late Delia (Sophie Pollono) with Chloe (Elizabeth Hendrickson), Johnny (Holden and Ryan Hare) with Chelsea (Melissa Claire Egan), and Katie (Sienna Mercuri) with Victoria (Amelia Heinle).
On GH, Patrick is father to daughter Emma (Brooklyn Rae Silzer) and a son, Noah, named after his father (Rick Springfield). He and Robin (Kimberly McCullough) and their kids are all living away from Port Charles right now. Patrick also had a son, Gabriel Drake Santiago, with Sabrina (Teresa Castillo), who died shortly after birth.
Thompson was nominated five times for a Daytime Emmy in the category of Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series for playing Patrick, but it was his portrayal of Billy that brought the gold home for him in 2020. Thompson’s reel included scenes in which Billy continued to deal with the passing of his beloved Delia.
Off-screen, Thompson and wife, Paloma Jonas, are doting parents to their children, Bowie Banjo, 5, and daughter, Rome Coco, 3.
