Last week, General Hospital (GH) fans learned that Kirsten Storms is leaving the soap once again, after taking a leave of absence last year due to skin issues caused by stress.
Now, we know her current departure is another leave of absence, and she’s not off contract with the soap.
According to the April 10 issue of Soaps In Depth, Storms is set to be off GH for three months. Unlike last year, Storms will not be replaced during her absence. (Molly Burnett played the role briefly last year.)

Instead, Maxie will leave town for a job. For the character’s sake, we hope the job is in Portland so she can be with her daughter, Georgie.
Last year, Storms and Bradon Barash (ex-Johnny) announced their divorce and soon after, the actress took her break, but returned in late summer. This year, there’s no word why she’ll be gone. Soap Hub will keep you posted as we know more.
