It’s logical to think that Michelle Stafford and Cynthia Watros, the current and soon-to-be actress who plays Nina Reeves on General Hospital, wouldn’t cross paths. But if you thought that you’d be wrong! The two Emmy-winners came face-to-face and marked their meeting for posterity!
In what appears to be the GH makeup room, Stafford and Watros took a selfie in which they posed cheek-to-cheek.
“I had the best afternoon with this beautiful soul,” posted Watros, who presumably is visiting GH in anticipation of her taking over the role of Nina from Stafford, who is returning to her role as Phyllis on The Young and the Restless.
“Just 2 actors talkin about acting today,” Stafford tweeted.
Stafford won her first Daytime Emmy for Outstanding Supporting Actress In A Drama Series for her role as YR’s Phyllis in 1997. She quit the show the same year to take a part on the short-lived Aaron Spelling series Pacific Palisades, returning again in 2000.
She exited YR a second time in 2013, creating the role of Nina on GH the following year. Earlier this year, word got out that she’d be returning to YR later this summer.
Watros debuted as Annie Dutton, R.N., on GL in 1994. She won the Daytime Emmy for Outstanding Lead Actress In A Drama Series in 1998. She left GL that same year. Watros wasn’t gone from daytime for very long. In 1998, she briefly subbed for Jensen Buchanan as Vicky on Another World and the went on to appear in primetime series including Titus and Lost.
The actress returned to daytime in 2013 as Kelly, Andres on YR, a mother mourning the loss of her son, Sam. She exited that role to take apart on the MTV series Finding Carter. Watch for Watros to debut as Nina later this spring or summer.
General Hospital airs weekdays on ABC. Check local listings for air times.
