Everyone loved Nathan on General Hospital, and they were over the moon when he returned from the dead. Unfortunately, he didn’t, but his twin brother, Cassius, is becoming way more interesting than we thought.
But He’s Not Nathan
Nathan (Ryan Paevey) was the best. Great detective, great husband, great friend, and he would have been a great father, but he is gone. Suddenly, he has a twin brother, Cassius, who seemed awful at first, but not so fast. It appears that Cassius is not necessarily a bad guy, but is quite complex.
He is pretending to be his twin and is working with Cullum (Andrew Hawkes) and Sidwell (Carlo Rota), which automatically makes him a villain. Keeping Britt’s (Kelly Theibaud) meds from her was another strike against him. Now he has taken Josslyn (Eden McCoy) hostage. Cassius appeared to be the evil twin of Nathan’s good one.
This may not be a Kevin/Ryan (John Lindstrom) situation. Nathan was definitely all good, but Cassius is less evil than expected.
The Real Cassius
Slowly, they are peeling back the layers of Cassius. He isn’t keeping Britt’s meds away from her because he wants to; it is because he has to.
This twin has feelings. He truly cares for Lulu (Alexa Havins), and he protected Rocco (Finn Carr) from Cullum and the WSB. Cassius also loves James (Gary James Fuller) and hates that he is deceiving his young nephew.
Yes, he has taken Josslyn hostage, but he doesn’t want her harmed. Joss was getting in over her head, and he wanted to keep her away from Cullum and Sidwell. The two have bonded in the creepy room under Wyndemere, and he opened up to her about who he is and why he is pretending to be his brother. Joss has warmed up to him.
It is still early, and there is a lot more to see, but Cassius may be a very interesting character, and more compelling than his brother. What do you think of him?
