This week is the week Jasam fans have been waiting for as the pair finally make love this week on General Hospital.
With all the mob violence and other adventure stories the two have played out for over a year, Steve Burton previewed some new news for Jasam this week at the General Hospital At Graceland Fan Weekend.
“There may be some romance this week,” he said with a sly smile to thunderous fan applause.
Apparently, Burton couldn’t be happier for his character after all the years he spent in Russia, explaining why this reunion was a necessity.
“It’s been seven years for Jason, something needs to happen.”
And it will, after Sam rescues Jason while on their own rescue mission to save Oscar and Josslyn.
Speaking of Russia, Burton also had some thoughts on his character’s triumphant return in 2017 after apparently spending five years in a Russian clinic with a mask over his face.
“I appreciate them making me look like a super hero,” Burton said of the costume, and of Jason flying through the Metro Court skylight as his public introduction back to life in Port Charles.
He also found Jason’s first encounter with mortal enemy Franco to be surreal.
“I come to the hospital and beat Franco and I said, ‘This isn’t Franco, this is TODD MANNING.'”
Of course, Burton was referring to Roger Howarth and the character he played for years on One Life to Live and briefly on GH.
If you recall, when Burton’s Jason last interacted with Franco, he was played by actor James Franco and was a sociopathic killer trying to destroy Jason and Sam’s lives.
General Hospital (GH) airs weekdays on ABC. Check your local listings for airtimes.
