John Oliver put it out there into the universe, and his wish has come true. This week on General Hospital, the late-night host will check soap star off of his bucket list when he guest stars in a three-episode arc. In the video preview for June 29-July 3, he gets to (attempt to) look cool walking away from a helicopter and everything.
Key Takeaways
- John Oliver makes his highly anticipated soap opera debut with a three-episode arc on General Hospital.
- Carly risks everything to rescue Josslyn as Wyndemere becomes even more dangerous.
- Felicia exposes Fake Nathan’s true identity while Faison’s completed weapon raises the stakes.
This Week on GH: June 29-July 3, 2026
According to GH, this week’s drama will feature John Oliver landing in Port Charles just in time for the fallout from Faison’s weapon. Plus, Carly races to save Josslyn, and Felicia exposes Cassius. Let’s break down the promo.
Operation Extract Josslyn
Joss (Eden McCoy) has been stuck in Wyndemere for weeks. Her mother has decided to finally get her daughter out of there, despite Valentin’s absence. “I’ve got to get Jocelyn out of Wyndemere now,” a worried and scared Carly (Laura Wright) states. We see her in Wyndemere. Unfortunately, she runs right into Cullum (Andrew Hawkes), who knows that Carly would be a valuable asset for luring Valentin (James Patrick Stuart) out in the open. How much trouble is Carly in?
The Weapon Is Finished
Meanwhile, in the prison apartment, Liesl (Kathleen Gati) utters the last words Joss wants to hear. “My work is done. I’ve completed the prototype.” Now that Faison’s cold-fusion weapon has been completed, there is no longer a use for Obrecht or Joss. Does this put them in immediate danger? According to the weekly teasers, Joss and Obrecht find common ground.
Fake Nathan’s Identity May Go Up in Smoke
Anna (Finola Hughes) must get through to Felicia (Kristina Wagner) because she has a few words to say about this Nathan (Ryan Paevey), who has been walking around town getting close to their family and playing cop. “Nathan isn’t who he says he is,” she reveals. But as we hear her expose Cassius, we see him walking with James (Gary James Fuller). And it looks like Cody (Josh Kelly) could potentially get in the way of whatever Fake Nathan is doing.
Special Guest Star
And finally, Last Week Tonight host John Oliver is a special guest star on GH this week. And it looks like he’s going to get everything he wanted in a soap opera experience. Back in March, he announced that he wanted a role on a soap opera on his Emmy-winning show. He basically shared his jealousy over Stephen A. Smith getting to play Brick, Sonny’s valuable right-hand man.

But he had a few conditions. He didn’t want to play himself. He wanted to be a character. And he wanted his character’s name to be ridiculous. Additionally, he wanted to do something ridiculous like murder or be someone’s long-lost something. Or he wanted to slap someone or be slapped. And he wished for a dramatic close-up of his face, which seems to be one condition that’s met from the looks of the promo.
All we know about Oliver’s character so far is that he’s mysterious. Two gunmen flank him as they walk away from a helicopter. And his gray hair is gone. Is he in Port Charles to buy the weapon that Britt (Kelly Thiebaud) started and Obrecht completed? Is he an arms dealer? Which GH characters will he get to interact with?
