On General Hospital, Laura’s latest mayoral term hasn’t been easy. Sidwell has leverage over her that he has been using to get what he wants, when he wants it. She, Sonny, and maybe even Ezra Boyle will need to deal with their Sidwell problem. But there’s someone else who suddenly needs Laura’s more immediate attention. The weekly spoilers for May 6 reveal that she tries to protect a loved one. Who in her life needs saving?
Key Takeaways
- Laura goes into protection mode as danger closes in on someone she loves.
- Sonny faces a risky dilemma while Ethan works to keep his moves hidden.
- Britt is blindsided again as Dante and Liz close in on the Cullum truth.
Laura Attempts to Step Up for Someone She Loves
Port Charles is a hotbed of darkness and drama this week. Cassius (Ryan Paevey) overpowered Joss (Eden McCoy), and now she’s being held in Anna’s old prison digs at Wyndemere — the one that looks like an apartment. Jack’s world imploded when he found out about Carly (Laura Wright) and Valentin (James Patrick Stuart), and that Carly knew he recruited Joss to the WSB.
And there are a number of really bad dudes making life in PC hellish, namely Sidwell (Carlo Rota), Cullum (Andrew Hawkes), Pascal (Marc Forget), and Cassius. Sidwell is the one who has really upended Laura’s life, and specifically, her current mayoral term. But at least she can take comfort in knowing that Kevin (Jon Lindstrom) and Ace are in Ireland, safe and sound.
That may not be the case for everyone in her life, however. On Wednesday, Laura (Genie Francis) tries to protect a loved one. Martin (Michael E. Knight) is off on a freelance gig. Lucky (Jonathan Jackson) is somewhere around the world. Lulu (Alexa Havins) is in town, which means this could involve her or, more likely, Rocco (Finn Carr) or Charlotte (Bluesy Burke). Laura will protect her family at all costs. Who triggers her protection mode? And why does the teaser say “tries” instead of “succeeds?
Sonny Deals with a Potential Dumpster Fire of a Dilemma
While Laura attempts to protect someone at all costs, Sonny (Maurice Benard) faces a dilemma. A dilemma that Jason (Steve Burton) isn’t around to help solve. Sonny isn’t just dealing with external obstacles. He is having issues within his inner circle as well.
Jason is gone. Ethan (Nathan Dean) has arrived. And Sonny is doing his best to trust Ric (Rick Hearst), a man who has proved himself untrustworthy over the years. Does this dilemma involve his half-brother?
Ethan Scrambles to Keep His Moves Hidden
Sonny’s dilemma may involve Ethan. The guy is a bit of a wild card. However, he did pass Ric’s test. And like Sonny, he has it out for Sidwell, but he has no problem holding back on taking direct action against Sonny’s nemesis. He knows this is what his new boss needs for now. But when the time comes, he will step up and get the job done in the name of his mother, whom Sidwell tried to kill.
When Ethan has to cover his tracks, it might be about one of the tasks Sonny asked him to carry out. Let’s hope his scrambling doesn’t draw any unwanted attention or suspicion.
Britt Faces a Jarring Moment
Meanwhile, Britt’s (Kelly Thiebaud) life continues to be a train wreck. She’s constantly on edge, and something has to give soon. Unfortunately, she’s not about to achieve peace of mind anytime soon. In fact, she experiences yet another moment that leaves her floored.
She already knows that Rocco shot Cullum, so that can’t be it. But she’s about to get another surprise. Perhaps Cassius fills her in on what he just did. Her half-brother could tell her how he had to handle the Joss situation. If this is the case, what will Britt do?
Dante and Liz Hash Out the Facts About the Cullum Case
Finally, Dante (Dominic Zamprogna) and Liz (Rebecca Herbst) keep ending up in the same room together. In GH’s weekly video preview, the two are in Dante’s office at the PCPD. And they’re talking about the night Cullum was shot. “Someone else got their hands on that gun,” Dante deduces, and Elizabeth seems to agree. “I think I know who it was,” she says.
Will she guess that it’s Rocco, because she did treat his hand that night of the shooting? Of course, Lulu and Rocco explained it away, saying it was a kitchen accident with a knife. Whose name is Liz about to say?
