Valentin is a free man. Anna is out of the psychiatric facility and has returned to Port Charles. And now Jason is set to return in General Hospital‘s milestone 16,000th episode, which airs Monday, July 13. And his return will, of course, have implications for everybody who loves him.

What Has Happened to Jason
Jason (Steve Burton) has been gone since March, when he was (forcefully) whisked away from Port Charles because he copped to shooting Cullum (Andrew Cullum, who revealed the backstory he created for his character), which is something everybody now knows he didn’t do. According to TV Insider, Jason will look rough when he lands back in PC. And he returns home a changed man, according to a Soap Opera Digest preview.
All we know right now is that Jason is free, and he can thank Josslyn (Eden McCoy) for that. She played the WSB game and, because of her trumped-up version of events, turned Cullum into a hero. Cassius Faison (Ryan Paevey) became the supervillain in the cold-fusion weapon scenario. And as a result, Valentin (James Patrick Stuart) and Jason are no longer prisoners.
It’ll be interesting to see how Jason reacts to the people who love him and how they will react to him. All of his relationships may be in flux. Obviously, his family and friends will be interested in finding out what he went through while imprisoned. Jason is notoriously tight-lipped, however. How much will he let them know? And is he the one responsible for Carly (Laura Wright) getting caught off-guard in the milestone episode?
Anna Gets Warned
At the end of Friday’s episode, Anna (Finola Hughes) and Valentin came face-to-face. They are both free. But Anna is still struggling. She’s seeing hell-ucnations of Peter August (Wes Ramsey). And the focus of her anger is Cassius. Each person Anna talks to, however, gives her more of a glimpse into everything that happened in PC since she was held captive and then had the breakdown.
Valentin will probably have a lot to tell her. The teasers suggest that Anna receives a warning. Valentin may be the one to give it to her.
Laura May Be on the Wrong Side of History — and Tracy
Apparently, Laura (Genie Francis) is about to get on Tracy’s bad side, which isn’t that hard to do, frankly. One of the mayor’s choices appalls Tracy (Jane Elliot). So it could have something to do with Sonny (Maurice Benard), Willow (Katelyn MacMullen), or even Martin (Michael E. Knight), who has returned after making a ton of money on a case in Reno.
Sonny and Tracy were recently on the same page regarding Gio’s safety. But they almost never see eye to eye. Laura has teamed up with Willow on one of the congresswoman’s initiatives, a daycare program. And we know Tracy and Willow have been clashing all over the place lately. In the video preview at the end of Friday’s GH, Elizabeth (Rebecca Herbst) talks to someone about taking the 16th spot on the hospital board. Does that 16th spot belong to Willow?
Britt’s in Attack Mode
Finally, Britt (Kelly Thiebaud) just received great news. She was released, and much like Valentin and Jason, she is free. But her bad mood remains because she basically has to start all over again. That’s what happens when you leave town and go on the run. Look for Britt to make an accusation, which again is something she loves to do. Who’s on the business end of her anger?
