Ruh roh. Seeing Dante and Elizabeth connect and look cozy together won’t be good for Ric. It just may put him right back on a dangerous path. A path that causes him to revert to his old self. The spoilers for Thursday’s General Hospital state that “Ric spirals.” A simple sentence for a complicated situation. Here’s a preview of what to expect on August 20, 2026.

Key Takeaways

  • Ric starts to spiral as Elizabeth and Dante continue growing closer.
  • Elizabeth opens up to Dante, while Lulu has words with Valentin.
  • Anna introduces Joss to Tristan as Carly comes to a realization.

Ric Starts to Spiral

Ric (Rick Hearst) has been on his best behavior. But he may be on a collision course with trouble because of Dante (Dominic Zamprogna) and Elizabeth’s friendship.

There are so many reasons why this path could mean he loses any ground he’s made with the people in his life. Elizabeth (Rebecca Herbst) has no need to feel controlled. Even one whiff of Old!Ric and she’ll cut the cord.

Second, if Ric does anything that will even blow back on Dante, then Sonny (Maurice Benard) will have something to say. That will be the end of this current lovey-dovey brother operation. Things are going so well for Ric and Sonny right now. He doesn’t want to ruin it, right? But if Ric starts to spiral, as the teasers suggest, then he may not be able to help himself.

Liz Opens Up to Dante

Elizabeth and Dante have been turning to each other and offering support and a non-judgmental ear over the last few months. Liz, especially, has shown up for Dante. She helped him see some truths about his son and his role in Cullum’s shooting. She’s broken some rules for him — all to protect Rocco (Finn Carr).

Meanwhile, Dante has listened to her and, more importantly, attempted to improve her softball game. And on Thursday, it’s her turn to open up to Dante. Why does she want to vent? And is this conversation what sends Ric into spiral mode? This may be the chat that causes him to turn to Lulu (Alexa Havins), as seen in GH’s weekly video preview.

Lulu Has Words with Valentin

Speaking of Lulu, she has recently made the very difficult decision to allow Charlotte (Bluesy Burke) to live with her dad. It goes against everything that she feels and fears. But she knows that this is what her daughter wants. And she could lose any relationship with Charlotte if she continues to stand between her and Valentin (James Patrick Stuart).

Lulu also knows that Rocco and Charlotte haven’t been getting along, so this is her way of keeping the peace. But Lulu doesn’t trust Valentin. She may never trust him. So when Lulu has words with Valentin, here’s to hoping they can keep things civil enough that Lulu and Charlotte’s relationship isn’t damaged further.

Anna Makes an Introduction as Carly Has a Realization

Look for Anna (Finola Hughes) to introduce Dr. Tristan Roberts (Dean Geyer), who has WSB ties, to Joss (Eden McCoy). Also, Carly (Laura Wright) makes a realization. This may have to do with Joss and her job with the WSB. She could decide to take a step back rather than micromanage the situation.

For now, she may have to accept Joss’s need to remain in the WSB, and then hope and pray that her daughter comes to her senses. Or that something happens to show Joss that there’s a better life for her outside the spy agency.
