When General Hospital spoilers went on hiatus, there was a strong possibility of Maxie being pregnant. (Because nobody on soaps ever just has the flu or ate bad shrimp.) If Maxie (Kirsten Storms) is pregnant, then Peter (Wes Ramsey) is the dad. Peter becoming a parent is a very complicated proposition.

On the one hand, Peter is a sociopath and a criminal. No kid deserves a dad like that. Then again, Sonny (Maurice Benard) and Jason (Steve Burton) are both of those things. And everyone says they’re the best dads in the world. Maybe Peter could join their Daddy & Me group? Pick up some pointers?
Peter Has Daddy Issues
Then there’s the fact that Peter has some serious Daddy Issues. He can’t stop whining about how Faison (Andres Hove) mistreated little Heinrich. Will Peter end up treating his child the way Faison treated him, simply because he doesn’t know any better?

Or will Peter swing in the exact opposite direction, and coddle and overprotect the kid until they have no choice but to rebel… and become just like Grandpa Ceasar? Remember, a happy medium is not Peter’s forte.
Mum’s the Word
There is also the possibility that becoming a parent might make Peter see the world from Anna’s (Finola Hughes) point of view for a change. Maybe having a child of his own whom Peter wants to love and protect – even at the cost of his own life and happiness – will make him understand why Anna did what she did to protect him.
It could improve their relationship to the point where Peter quits unrolling his litany of complaints the second Anna steps into view. And maybe his stopping to do that will stop Anna for defending her precious little baby every time he does something newly evil? General Hospital (GH) airs weekdays on ABC.
