Don’t take our word for Kristina Wagner deserving this week’s Performer of the Week for General Hospital for her tour-de-force as Felicia after Sean’s memorial. The actress’ castmate Finola Hughes (Anna) raved on Twitter about Wagner: “She killed it”!

The setting was over in Ireland where a contingent of Port Charles citizens gathered to attend the funeral and celebrate the life of Sean Donely played by actor John Reilly, who passed away earlier this year. It was the first time Felicia had some face time with Anna. The two women, as shown in a flashback in the episode, are longtime friends, but Felicia took great offense over Anna’s role in not protecting her daughter Maxie (Kristen Storms) from Anna’s nephew Peter (Wes Ramsey).

Felicia was back in Texas taking care of a sick relative while Maxie and Peter were getting close. She expected Anna to protect her child. Sadly, she was wrong. Anna asked Felicia if they could clear the air and work through the anger after Sean’s service. Felicia agreed to do it in honor of Sean.

“This isn’t anger, Anna — this is rage,” Felicia told her friend, lamenting that she put her in a position of trust in her life. Wagner recapped the backstory of how Anna encouraged Felicia to give Peter a chance quickly to any viewers who had tuned back in to see the Sean tribute episode, but the exposition didn’t dampen Felicia’s fury. She blasted Anna for not telling her or Mac (John J. York) or even Maxie herself of Peter’s potential for danger.

Anna barely got out an “I’m sorry” before Felicia marched past her — we weren’t sure for a second or not if Felicia was going to lunge at Anna. That’s how angry she is, rightfully so! Later, Felicia and Anna went another round. Maxie’s mom had tempered her fury just a bit, but her frustration and hurt feelings were still there. “I can hardly remember a time when we weren’t friends,” Felicia, starting to soften, told Anna.

Wagner found common ground with Anna over their mutual love of Sean. “He’d tell me to forgive you and he’d be right,” Felicia told Anna. She agreed to work with her friend (yes, they’re still friends — whew!) in order to keep Maxie safe. Wagner had other roles to play in this episode as Felicia lent solace to Annie (Caitlin Reilly, who also did great work in this episode), Sean, and Tiffany’s (Sharon Wyatt) daughter. Felicia, along with the rest of Sean’s friends, took part in a ruse that resulted in Annie earning her status as a full-fledged WSB Agent.

Wagner’s been playing Felicia since 1984, but she doesn’t appear on the show as regularly as her fans would like. The fact that she’s not flexing her acting muscles in Port Charles on a weekly basis makes her recent tour-de-force all the more impressive. Here’s hoping we see more of Felicia especially as Maxie is not out of danger yet. General Hospital (GH) airs weekdays on ABC. Check your local listings for airtimes.
