In the July 2 episode of General Hospital, it was the final bow for Cullum and Sidwell. One of them most definitely feels like it was for good, while the other has potential to make a comeback. They left behind a bloody mess and body count that will change many lives in Port Charles.

Key Takeaways

  • Sidwell was arrested.
  • Cullum was one of several shot at Wyndemere.
  • The story is over, but likely not forever.

Sonny Won This Round

At Ava’s (Maura West) gallery, Sonny (Maurice Benard) and Sidwell (Carlo Rotta) went toe-to-toe as the latter demanded Sonny help him escape. Sidwell planned to take his hostage, Justine (Nazneen Contractor), with him, but that didn’t fly with the mob boss.

Once Sonny revealed that Cullum (Andrew Hawkes) killed Marco (Adrian Anchondo), Sidwell had nothing left to lose. Sidwell was filled with rage, which gave Sonny and Justine the perfect time to get the gun away from him.

It should surprise no one that Sonny won and took the gun from Sidwell. However, Justine convinced him not to shoot Sidwell just as the police arrived. The timing of the police showing up may have saved Ethan (Nathan Dean), who was bleeding out on a table as he and Ava hid.

Wyndemere Blood Bath

In the GH summer preview, it was teased that Josslyn (Eden McCoy) was freed, but serious blood was shed at Wyndemere. Boy, was that true. Cassius (Ryan Paevey) saved Carly (Laura Wright) and sent her to free Josslyn and Liesl (Kathleen Gati).

Josslyn had Liesl trap Carly in the room with her so that she could help Cassius. On the docks, a shootout erupted as Cullum shot Cassius and was about to escape when Josslyn shot him, only to be shot herself.

A bleeding Cullum exposed the truth to Cassius that Britt (Kelly Thiebaud) did not have Huntington’s disease, but Cassius delivered her poison. Josslyn managed to shoot Cullum as Cassius lay motionless.

The Fallout of Sidwell and Cullum

Josslyn was the only one who seemed alive when a new WSB agent (John Oliver) showed up. The agent checked Cullum and Cassius’ pulses but didn’t give hope for either of them.

With Sidwell in prison and Cullum and Cassius likely dead, the chaos around Faison’s (Anders Hove) final project has come to an end for now. Sidwell was arrested, but it’s not like he can’t get out of that situation and return to wreak havoc on Port Charles.

Cassius and Cullum seem dead. However, weirder things have happened on GH than the two of them turning out to be alive. In the meantime, Port Charles appears to be getting a break from the Cullum and Sidwell madness.

The aftermath, though, will reach far and wide as so many lives were harmed and impacted by what went down. It should make for a very interesting storyline, especially once Jason (Steve Burton) returns.
