It doesn’t matter if she set in motion the mental breakdown and subsequent (alleged) death of a young man she claimed to love. General Hospital (GH) viper Ava Jerome couldn’t let a little thing like guilt get in the way of hiding the truth to save her own skin.
Even when caught, Ava couldn’t let things go and went as far as starting a fire to escape to freedom. If someone else died in the process, what does she care?
This easily makes her a character you hate, but Maura West, the Emmy-winning actress who brings her to life adds something extra to her evil. Soap Hub asked if West’s ruthless portrayal of this clearly psychotic woman is what makes her a character you don’t just hate but love to hate.
West Is The Best
Out of nearly 8,000 votes, 86% of you say West is tops and if it wasn’t for the actress, you wouldn’t be able to stomach the character and all the things she does and somehow gets away with.
When you thought she was dead two years ago, you were crushed. When she turned up alive, you couldn’t wait for her to drop the Denise DeMucio act and be Ava again in all her sociopathic glory. Few performers can make someone as horrific as Ava entertaining to watch.
Ava Is The ABSOLUTE WORST
The other 14% of you don’t care who brings Ava to life–you just want her gone. Everything she touches turns to poison, and in the end, she brings joy to nobody in Port Charles.
Even her devoted daughter Kiki (Hayley Erin) constantly finds her heart broken by her poor excuse for a mother and when she learns what Ava did to Morgan (Bryan Craig), it’s safe to say they’ll be on the outs again.
