Might Brenda Barrett be the one woman who can save Sonny’s sinking soul on General Hospital?
As Sonny (Maurice Benard) falls deeper into despair and even believes Carly (Laura Wright) is now with Jax, anything can happen and he might need someone he hasn’t seen in quite a few years to bring him out of the darkness–his ex-wife, Brenda.
Also, with the return of Brenda, Carly may take a second look at her situation with Sonny and realize perhaps they may need to reconnect again. Right now, there is no other woman she has to worry about who may take Sonny away from her.
On Tuesday night, actress Vanessa Marcil posted a series of tweets linked to Instagram photos that makes us wonder if she’s trying to tell us something about a GH return.

In one pic of a child, she talked about big news coming. A second pic had her in a hair and makeup chair mentioning “coming home” and then she re-tweeted a photo of Brenda and Sonny posted by a fan.
In the 1990s, Sonny and Brenda were a General Hospital phenomenon and some fans argue she is the true love of his life. The pair were married after years and false starts in 2011, but the marriage did not last.
