Elizabeth Webber (Rebecca Herbst) balks when Nikolas Cassadine (Marcus Coloma) alerts her to Esme Prince’s (Avery Kristen Pohl) escape… Spencer Cassadine (Nicholas Alexander Chavez) and Trina Robinson (Tabyana Ali) congratulate themselves on their efforts to convince the populace that their a bona fide item. As they stand on the cusp of making the narrative reality, a soaking wet, obviously pregnant Esme appears before them and then collapses at their feet; the duo rushes Esme to the hospital and Spencer summons the authorities and Liz.
Dante Falconeri (Dominic Zamprogna) puts Dex Heller (Evan Hofer) in the hot seat and then laments to Sam McCall (Kelly Monaco) that he might one day be in a position to arrest Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard)…Carly Spencer (Laura Wright) and Drew Cain (Cameron Mathison) both arrive too late for the festivities aboard The Haunted Star and instead ring in the New Year together on the pier.
Britt Westbourne (Kelly Thiebaud) stymies The Hook from delivering a killing blow to Josslyn Jacks (Eden McCoy) while Dex fires a round into the murderess. Dex and Josslyn exit the scene, return to his apartment and make love…Britt makes her way back to The Haunted Star much to Liesl Obrecht’s (Kathleen Gati) pleasure. The women discover that Britt has been wounded…The Hook is revealed to be Heather Webber (Alley Mills).
General Hospital Recaps: Wednesday, January 4
Britt admits that she’s been injured by The Hook’s weapon of choice and begs Liesl to simply hold her close rather than make the effort to rush her to GH; she dies while Liesl expresses how much she loves her daughter…Dex escorts Josslyn to Kelly’s where she ends things with a distraught Cameron Webber (William Lipton).

Laura Collins (Genie Francis) wonders if Ava Jerome Cassadine (Maura West) knows what Victor Cassadine (Charles Shaughnessy) is holding over Nikolas’s head, but Ava remains mum. The duo makes tracks for the hospital when they learn of Esme’s registering…Esme claims not to know who or where she is. Everyone apprised of the situation is dubious…Ava deduces that Nikolas is the father of Esme’s baby and slaps him across the face.
GH Recaps: Thursday, January 5
When Ryan Chamberlain (Jon Lindstrom) queries, Heather cops to being The Hook. Ryan shares that Esme is with child. Heather delights in the news and prepares to commit yet another murder in order to clear Esme of suspicion once and for all…Nikolas arranges for Martin Grey (Michael E. Knight) to handle Esme’s defense…Liz is assured that Esme isn’t faking her amnesia.
Brad Cooper (Parry Shen) and Maxie Jones (Kirsten Storms) resolve to honor Britt’s wish that they become friends…Liesl packs up Britt’s office; Austin Gatlin-Holt (Roger Howarth) commiserates with her, then mentions that Esme — whom the majority of Port Charles assume is The Hook — is a patient at the hospital. Liesl dons Britt’s doctor’s threads and enters Esme’s room, murder in her heart.
General Hospital Recaps: Friday, January 6
Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros) halts Liesl’s plan to end Esme…Josslyn and Dex fill Carly in on the events that led to Britt’s death…After having a set-to with Nikolas, Sonny tells Spencer of Britt’s passing…Sonny arranges for Britt’s office to be cleared out. While perusing the contents, Nina stumbles upon Willow Tait’s (Katelyn MacMullen) medical records…Willow learns that a bone marrow match has been found.
