The General Hospital recap for Tuesday, December 26, 2023, features Esme’s messy memory mission scaring Sonny so bad he decided Ava and Avery need to be under his care!

Also in this episode, Nina confessed to the wrong person, Carly got the last laugh, Spencer and Trina got cozy, Laura joined Dante on a mission, and Esme visited her father’s grave. Now, let’s dig a little deeper into the details.
Blessings And Curses
Spencer (Nicholas Alexander Chavez) caught one heck of a break when Esme (Avery Kristen Pohl) called and gave him Ace for the night. What a blessing it will be to wake up in the morning with his little brother for his first Christmas!
What Spencer didn’t realize is that Esme called him to tell him she had her memories back. She stopped herself when Trina (Tabyana Ali) kept interrupting the call. Once they hung up, Trina’s jealous side showed and Spencer had to soothe her.

As for Esme, she was in for a wild night of tears, hiding, and making a massive mistake that could cost her. Her emotions were running high and she wasn’t nearly careful enough to cover her tracks.
While Esme was upstairs sorting through her emotions and reliving all her terrible deeds, Ava (Maura West) was downstairs. She no sooner closed the door than was alerted by the security company there was an intruder and the cops were on the way. That cop being Dante (Dominic Zamprogna).
Confession Sessions
Over at the church, Nina (Cynthia Watros) sat in the confessional and carefully and cautiously bared her soul. She told the “priest” she did something awful to people who didn’t deserve it.
“Father” Cyrus (he sure seems to fancy himself a religious man now) listened in and pushed for more info. Nina admitted she turned someone in for a crime and things spiralled. Someone went to jail, a family was hurt. It was awful. To his credit, Cyrus gave good advice. He told her to make amends by confessing to those she hurt.

Nina left and Cyrus (Jeff Kober) had a short talk with the actual priest. Once alone, he vowed to make Nina do the right thing, whether she wanted to or not.
Meanwhile, Nina went to the hospital to do just that. She got there just in time to say hello and goodbye to Sonny (Maurice Benard) and Laura (Genie Francis). Sonny got a text about the happenings at Wyndemere so he and Laura took off.
Alone with Carly, Nina attempted to make amends. She didn’t confess to what she did, but she did apologize and beg for forgiveness. Carly wasn’t going to give her that, though. She ruined Carly’s life and she’ll have to live with that.
Damage Control
Over at Wyndemere, Laura took Dante on a tour of the house to look for the intruder. They nearly caught Esme but she was smart to duck and hide. She ran out the door the first chance she got. Unfortunately, she dropped her red glove on the way. And, of course, Dante found it.
Esme made her way to Ryan’s grave to cry about her life. She was a child of psychopaths and was tired of being an outsider. But, she didn’t see a way to make any of this right.
Back at the castle, Laura and Dante concluded their search, while downstairs Sonny started making calls to protect his family. And, he decided right then and there that Ava and Avery would move in until they figured out what was going on. He didn’t give her the option of saying no.
