A lot can happen in five years, as Original Recipe Jason figured out over the last week on General Hospital (GH).
We have no idea where he’s really been for five years (and, for now, just assume he’s Jason) and apparently neither has he. He knows he was in Russia, but he didn’t think it was for all that long.
When he discovered it was 2017 (and that Britain left the EU, we’ll assume he caught up on U.S. news, as well), our boy was in for quite a shock. Just wait till he gets back to Port Charles. So, what does he need to know to make himself at home again?
Well, for one, there’s another man walking around town with his name, money, wife, and sons. We have Current Jason buying media companies, married to Sam, and fathering Jake and Danny.
And, speaking of Jake and Danny. Original Jason is going to have to learn that Jake is alive, because the last he knew Luke had killed the boy in a terrible hit and run. As for Danny, he thought Franco fathered the baby he left in Sam’s arms one fateful October night in 2012.
Now, Jake is being raised by Liz and Current Jason–and Franco (but not Lucky, who was his legal father when he ‘died’). And, Sam is married to this Current Jason, Danny calls him “Dad” and they have a little girl named Emily Scout, named for his sister.

Speaking of siblings, Original Jason will have to learn that when he disappeared, AJ turned up alive, but, he’s dead again. Whoops! And who killed him? Well, that would be Sonny, his own best friend and mentor.
Speaking of best friends, guess who married again? Yep, there’s no more Kate/Connie for Sonny. It’s all about Carly now, but uh-oh, Morgan is dead and Morgan was Original Jason’s godson and namesake. As for Michael? He’s using the Quartermaine name now, something that could be a bit shocking.
Original Jason will also learn that his savior at the Russian clinic is technically his aunt by marriage. Yes, it turns out Sam has a dad, he arrived in town and gave Danny some bone marrow, and has a sister. And that sister rescued him from the Russian clinic. How about that?
He might also be interested to learn that sister had sex with Sonny in a crypt one night and produced a child named Avery. And Sonny hates her. And it’s all a mess. So, why can’t they be friends anyway?
Oh, Original Recipe Jason (if that’s who you are, and we think that’s who you are), it’s going to be quite a time when you return to town this week.
