Kin Shriner (Scotty) revealed at a recent fan event that General Hospital will honor the late Peter Hansen (who played Lee, Scotty’s dad) in an upcoming episode.

Hansen, who won an Emmy for his portrayal of Lee in 1979, last appeared on GH in 2004 when Lee and his wife Gail attended Lila Quartermaine’s funeral.

“Peter, as we all know, passed away recently,” Shriner shared. “He was 95. [GH is] going to do a show using memories of the character. We’re going to find out that Lee has passed away.”

“Frank Valentini (executive producer) said that he would do a tribute show,” added Jackie Zeman (Bobbie).

Shriner says that the episode honoring his late TV father will shoot in the middle of June (with a likely July air date). One attendee at the gathering asked if Susan Brown (ex-Gail) will make an appearance in the episode.

“I don’t think she’s acting anymore,” Zeman responded. “So, I think it’s unlikely she’ll come on air, but you never know! Never say never, stranger things have happened!”

“Susan’s around,” Shriner said. “She’s okay, but I don’t know [if she’ll come on].”

Zeman and Shriner, who held the fan event in honor of the pair’s 40th anniversary in Port Charles, took the opportunity to reflect on other late GH cast members including Gerald Gordon (ex-Dr. Mark Dante) and Emily McLaughlin (ex-Jessie Brewer).

“Gerald was like the Gene Hackman of daytime,” Shriner said. “He’d say to me at lunch, ‘C’mon, kid! We’re going to the Brown Derby!'”

“I had watched GH before I was on it, so I knew who everybody was,” Zeman said.

“When I found out I was going to be working with Emily, I was thrilled because she was such a star and a great lady. Emily was really cool. She had a cabin and a bunch of us would go up there on weekends.”

Zeman also recollected how Hansen, who was a licensed pilot, would take actors for flights on his plane. “We had a lot of good times,” the actress said. “We weren’t (just) pretending to be a family on camera. There was a lot of love, sharing, and sentimental experiences.”
