Nathan Dean is back on General Hospital as Ethan Lovett (no relation, presumably, to the woman who makes meat pies out of freshly killed corpses in Sweeney Todd), and we know exactly what story we’d like to see him in.
Key Takeaways
- We’d love it if Ethan were Holly’s long-lost son.
- We’d love it if Ethan were Luke’s long-lost son
- We’d love it if Ethan were also connected to Robert
Son of Some
When Ethan was first revealed to be Holly’s (Emma Samms) son, everybody, including Ethan, assumed his biological father was Robert Scorpio (Tristan Rogers). It was the only thing that even vaguely made sense. But who needs sense when you can have… nonsense?
Ethan turned out to be Luke’s (Anthony Geary) son. Viewers were expected to believe that Luke, while married to the love of his life (that would be Laura [Genie Francis], yes, we adore Tracy [Jane Elliot], too, but Laura is the love of Luke’s life — we will be taking no questions about that at this time) — that Luke ran into Holly, the presumed dead wife of his best friend, slept with her, and never thought to tell Robert that she was alive. Suuuuuuuure.
Back in Time
We’ve already explained how Ethan can still be Robert’s. And now that the character is back in Port Charles, it’s the perfect time to make the speculation a reality.
And put it in the service of the story we don’t so much want to see, as have to see — that of the death of Robert. With Tristan gone, he deserves a tribute. And a great story to send him out on. Ethan, Holly, Anna (Finola Hughes), Robin (Kimberly McCullough), and Mac (John J. York) all need to be a part of it. And since we got a Sasha (Sofia Mattsson) and baby Daisy mention recently, let’s hope it all ties together in a satisfying way. No less than Robert/Tristan deserve.
