It seems like there will be double Carlys any day now on General Hospital (GH) when Tamara Braun makes her Port Charles return.
However, as previously reported, Braun will NOT be playing Carly. Laura Wright is keeping her job, and Braun will play someone completely different starting November 22, according to the actress’s tweet.
There’s been some speculation as to who Braun will play, including the possibility that she’s Oscar’s mom–or even Nelle’s mom as Braun and Chloe Lanier look so much alike.
While Executive Producer Frank Valentini won’t say much about Braun’s character, he did say this in the November 20 issue of Soap Opera Digest: “I was thrilled for the opportunity to bring an actress of Tamara’s caliber back to the show. Her character is full of surprises and the audience is in for a great ride.”
This won’t be the first time a former Carly returned to GH with Wright still playing the pivotal role. Sarah Joy Brown, who originated the role of Carly, made her PC comeback as Claudia Zacchara several years back, but the part didn’t work out.

Braun last appeared as Ava Vitali on Days of Our Lives. Her character was smothered to death via pillow by a crazed teen who blamed her for all his family’s problems (and he might have had a point, but still…).
