When Maurice Benard isn’t being the calm, cool, and collected Sonny on General Hospital, he’s hosting a successful mental health podcast. Now, the actor has teased an upcoming merch drop for State of Mind.
Spreading Love
Benard took to Instagram to share a photo of his latest SOM merch, all of which features a heart surrounding the podcast logo, just in time for Valentine’s Day.
“We ALL need some LOVE now,” Benard began the post. “I’ve opened my merchandise for a very limited release of “Little Love” until the full reboot on my birthday March 1!!!” the actor enthusiastically revealed. “Thank you ALL for your loyal support of State of Mind.”
The collection features two t-shirts in hot pink and white and two baseball caps in pale pink and white, available on MauriceBenard.com.

The “Little Love” collection wasn’t the only merch Benard shared. He recently teased a photo of the new SOM merch — set to drop on March 1 — for Instagram subscribers only. But always a tease, Benard decided to share the snap for all of his followers in an Instagram story, saying, “First look at our new merch before we announce it to the world.”
The photo features a set of four t-shirts, all with a black, white, and red color scheme and featuring motivational phrases like, “Believe you can, anxiety can’t.” Benard has been open about his struggles with anxiety and even revealed a more recent battle that kept him out of work from GH for two weeks last year.
Ahead of the new merch, Benard appeared on The Jennifer Hudson Show with GH co-stars Laura Wright (Sonny), Donnell Turner (Curtis), Tanisha Harper (Jordan), Cameron Mathison (Drew), and Finola Hughes (Anna).
