Everybody on General Hospital hates Drew, and with good reason. But everybody doesn’t seem to hate Willow. Why is that?
Weeping Willow
Willow (Katelyn MacMullen) and Drew (Cameron Mathison) had an affair. They were both undoubtedly wrong, but Willow was married to Michael (Chad Duell) and deeply hurt him. Port Charles hated both of them when the news first came out, but now it looks like some are giving Willow a pass.
Drew is definitely the villain in the story because not only did he sleep with his nephew’s wife, but he is also doubling down on his bad behavior. The way he is acting has made things worse. He advised Willow to use Michael’s proxy as a bargaining chip, he snuck into the gatehouse when he knew it would cause trouble, and he is trying to paint himself as the victim. A bad guy.
His girlfriend is not innocent in the situation. She is an adult who knows right from wrong and is free to make her own choices. Willow has been choosing Drew over everyone and everything else in her life. She is creating her own trouble, and she can do better. But she acts so wide-eyed and innocent that people tend not to blame her.
The Apology Tour
The residents of Port Charles are suddenly bending over backward to help and/or apologize to Willow. First, Maxie (Kirsten Storms) reached out, and then Lucas (Van Hansis) apologized for giving her a hard time.
Now her mom Nina (Cynthia Watros) and mother-in-law Carly (Laura Wright) are about to team up to get her away from Drew. It is understandable why they do not want their grandchildren around Carly’s sleazy ex, but Willow wants to be with him. Meddling from two people who hate each other won’t change her mind. Nina pretends that none of this is her sweet daughter’s fault and Drew is controlling her. It takes two to tango.
Do you think Willow will escape this situation scot-free, with Drew being the only villain? Do you believe this couple will last? Let us know in the comments.
