Some thought he was The Hook but poor Officer Rory Cabrera turned out to be a victim of the Port Charles killer on General Hospital. Now, Rory’s portrayer, Michael Blake Kruse, is speaking out on his departure from the ABC soap opera.

Michael Blake Kruse – Discharged Patient

“Many thanks to everyone who has sent me supportive messages in light of Rory Cabrera leaving the GH canvas,” Kruse began in an Instagram post, which can be seen below. “I enjoyed playing the character and valued his essence. Yes, he was unsophisticated and naive but at least he was genuine.

“In particular with Trina [Tabyana Ali], he was always sincere and had her best interests at heart,” the actor continued. “That has to count for something Spring fans.

“Rory was a mediocre cop, at best,” Kruse suggests, “but Port Charles isn’t the easiest town to police. He was also equipped with a holster from the 70s, no radio, and no bullet proof vest.”

Rory’s Boss Sums Up Kruse

Tanisha Harper, who plays Commissioner Jordan Ashford, AKA Rory’s boss on the Port Charles Police Department, wrote on Kruse’s post, “You are the best and…[you] still make me lol,” Harper posted.

Perhaps a proper vest could have saved Rory from being the latest victim of The Hook? As viewers saw, he survived the attack long enough to be brought to General Hospital where he shared a brief but emotional farewell with Trina.

Michael Blake Kruse – Final Words

The actor wants the show’s viewers and his fans to know he had a great time playing Rory. “Above all, I had the pleasure of working with some incredible people and have a newfound respect for everyone involved in daytime TV,” he says.

“All of my love and appreciation to the fans who were supportive along the way,” Michael Blake Kruse concludes. We expect to see the actor working in the near future. Currently, he can be seen in the role of Henderson in the film Black Panther: Wakanda Forever.
