It’s no secret that there are many among the General Hospital cast who would love to work more with Maura West. Ava Jerome Cassadine is a super fun character, and the way the actress plays her is always a treat. But who does West get excited to work with? The answer may surprise you.
Maura West — Fun At Work
It was during the General Hospital Fantasy Events Zoom with her former co-star Michael Park (ex-Jack Snyder) when an attendee, Taylyn, asked who was her favorite person to share scenes with on set, excluding, of course, Park — because that wouldn’t be fair.
“I think for me, when I look at the script now,” began West, “I’m just going to go with GH because that’s what I’m doing now…when I look at the script, and I see who I have scenes with — when I see Ava and Carly scenes — Laura Wright, I go…” and she gave a huge sigh of relief. This is probably a shock for some fans who believe that the characters’ relationships bleed offscreen, but in this case, it couldn’t be further from the truth. Ava and Carly may be longtime rivals and have done awful things to each other, but these two actresses are there for each other.
“That’s an actor who’s going to know what she’s doing,” continued the multiple Daytime Emmy winner. “She’s not going to try to undermine me…Maura…or my character. She’s going to tell the story, she’s going to do her job, do it quickly, we’re going to have a few laughs, and we’re going to get out of there.

“That’s a great feeling,” continued Maura West. “She’s a really good scene partner for all of those reasons and more. We’re good friends. She’s just a great scene partner.” Considering how great any interaction is between these two powerhouses, it shows onscreen.
