Sasha Gilmore Corbin has played out two big tragedies on General Hospital. Fortunately, her portrayer, Sofia Mattsson, is about to get a second blessing in the form of a bundle of pink.
Sofia Mattsson Announces Baby No. 2
Mattsson took to Instagram to confirm some big news that she says her fans had already suspected. The actress is expecting her second child. “Many of you guessed it already…Baby girl due in May,” Mattsson posted alongside a stunning picture of herself with her pregnancy in full view.
As the baby is due next month, it’s unlikely that the pregnancy will be written into the show as 1) it hasn’t been already and 2) widowed Sasha isn’t in a relationship. However, potential on-screen love interest Josh Kelly (Cody) feigned surprise in his response to Mattsson’s happy news. “Whaaaaaat?!?” Kelly wrote. (Ironically, his handle is @justjokingjk.)

Several other daytime pals chimed in with congratulatory messages. Brytni Sarpy (ex-Valerie, GH; Elena, The Young and the Restless) and Courtney Hope (Sally Spectra, Y&R), among other friends, shared their joy over Mattsson’s news.
Mattsson made her GH debut in 2018. Employed by Valentin (James Patrick Stuart), Sasha pretended to be Nina’s (Cynthia Watros) long-lost daughter. After a romance with Michael (Chad Duell), Sasha fell in love with Brando (Johnny Wactor). Tragically, Sasha and Brando’s son died shortly after birth. More tragedy followed after Brando died at the hands of the Hook, AKA Heather Webber (Alley Mills).

Mattsson and husband Thomas Payton, welcomed their son in July 2021. “Happiest 4 weeks ever with this little guy! [He] stole my heart completely.” The actress doesn’t overshare on social media details about her personal life however, she has let folks know that baby No. 2, a daughter, is on her way and will be here soon!
