Actress Annie Wersching, known for her roles in primetime on 24 and Timeless, died today, Sunday, January 29, at the age of 45. The actress appeared on General Hospital in 2007 as Amelia Joffe, a woman from Sam’s past who had a fling with Sonny and played a pivotal role in Jake’s life.

In Memoriam – Annie Wersching

Wersching passed away after a battle with cancer. She was born and raised in St. Louis, Missouri, and was educated at Crossroads College Preparatory School, graduating in 1995. Next, she attended Millikin University where she earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in musical theater.

As a professional actress, Wersching’s credits include Star Trek: Enterprise, Charmed, Supernatural, The Vampire Diaries, and Cold Case. In the seventh and eighth seasons of 24, the actress played Special Agent Renee Walker. Next came parts on CSI, NCIS, Hawaii Five-O, Dallas, Castle, Blue Bloods, and Touch.

Wersching co-starred with Tyler Christopher (ex-Nikolas) in 2017 in the TV movie The Other Mother. The actress played Christopher’s character’s ex-wife, who was unbalanced.

She was a series regular in the Amazon Prime series Bosch. Wersching played the Borg Queen in Star Trek: Picard. The actress recurred on The Rookie as Rosalind Dyer opposite Nathan Fillion (ex-Joey, One Life to Live) from 2019-2022. Before that, from 2017-2018, she recurred on the NBC series Timeless as the villainess Emma, often sparring with series star Abigail Spencer (ex-Becca, All My Children). In 2013, she voiced the character of Tess in the popular game, The Last of Us, recently adapted into a series on HBO.

Wersching was wed to actor/comedian Stephen Full (Dog With a Blog) in 2009. The couple had three sons Freddie, Ozzie, and Archie. Although she was diagnosed with cancer in 2020, she continued to act.
