General Hospital will always be known for its drama, but one storyline on the April 17, 2024 episode felt more like a sitcom.

A Full House

It’s always a good day when the kids are on screen, and this episode started out with Violet (Jophielle Love) answering the door to Jake (Hudson West, who recently celebrated a birthday), Aiden (Enzo De Angelis), and Elizabeth (Rebecca Herbst). When Aiden walked in announcing dinner had arrived, Violet joked, “Good, I did not feel like cooking tonight.” Cue the laugh track.

They decided to get dinner started before Finn (Michael Easton) got home from work, and when Aiden asked if he could use Finn’s air fryer, Gregory (Gregory Harrison) chimed in with, “Of course it is, just be sure to tell him how much you love it. It’ll make his day.” In typical sitcom fashion, this will become a running joke for later.

The Important Lesson

While the kids cooked, Elizabeth and Gregory had their adult conversation about how things have been for her family since Jason’s (Steve Burton) return. Elizabeth confided in him about her anger toward Jason, but that Jake’s anger was even stronger for his father.

Gregory went full-on Danny Tanner on her and offered her some advice, including some wise words on anger and how his past experiences relate to what she’s going through.

The Feel-Good Ending

When Finn finally got home from work just as Violet announced dinner was ready, Gregory quipped, “Your timing is impeccable, Sir,” to which Finn replied, “Sir… I like it.” Cue that laugh track again.

The jokes just kept coming when Finn said he would eat Jake’s fries because Aiden didn’t make enough, and when Aiden assured Finn his air fryer is amazing, Finn agreed in excitement. The response made Aiden and Gregory swap comedic eyebrow raises.

Finally, to end the scene, Finn asked Jake how his day was and they both said they had no complaints. “We’re living the dream,” Jake said before the scene froze and the audience applauded.

Not really, but it would have worked. What did you think of these lighthearted scenes amid the drama? Let us know in the comments.
