When General Hospital’s Esme went overboard off the Parisian version of The Haunted Star, that spelled the end of Avery Kristen Pohl’s run as the offspring of two of Port Charles’s most famous serial killers.
Esme’s GH Swan Song Came And Went
Pohl’s last airdate as Esme was January 31 when the young vixen took a needle to Spencer Cassadine and they both took a plunge off the deck of a riverboat on the River Seine. On February 1, both she and Spencer were presumed dead, with Soap Opera Digest confirming Pohl’s exit.
Pohl debuted as Esme in 2021 as Spencer’s girlfriend whom he met in a European boarding school. She had the potential to be a great young vixen, but GH might have gone too far, too fast with her when it had her drug Trina. She then recorded Josslyn and Cameron’s first time having sex before blasting it out onto the Internet.

The actress was off the soap for several months in 2022 when Ava thought she pushed Esme off the Wyndemere parapet and to her death, but she returned pregnant with Nikolas’s child. She later launched herself off the parapet again after Nikolas held her hostage in a tower, but emerged with amnesia.
A year later, Esme finally got her memory back and returned to her vendetta against Spencer and Trina. That led to her fall off the boat that ended Pohl and Esme’s GH run.
Whether Esme one day emerges from the murky waters and Pohl returns to the GH canvas remains to be seen.
