Only a few weeks since Michael officially left Port Charles, his portrayer Chad Duell has announced a new gig since he exited General Hospital.

After 15 years on GH, Duell announced his departure last November. The actor revealed it was partly for personal reasons since his father’s unexpected passing. And partly to pursue other endeavors. Now, Duell’s next project was announced in a joint Instagram post along with his new co-star Zach Mendez and Stoneypoint Entertainment.
“Today the cast and production team made it official. @duelly Chad Duell (@generalhospitalabc Emmy winner) and @zach.mendez (just wrapped @marriedalivethefilm) will star in the world premiere of ‘YUM YUM AT ANNAPOLIS,’ a new play by @bybrucereismen,” the post read.
Along with a slew of photos, including a snap of Duell with Mendez and Reismen and a playbill for the show, the announcement continued, “Rehearsals begin with table read next week, then the public, then the public, full tech and costumed, invited audience concert reading in April in Los Angeles at the legendary @elportlaltheatre in NoHo.”
The announcement details that the Los Angeles premiere is only the start of the journey for Yum Yum at Annapolis, with plans of taking it off-off-Broadway in New York this fall.

The play will follow two best friends, American playwright Eugene O’Neill (Mendez) and a sailor named Eddie (Duell), as Eddie works to rebuild the porch where O’Neill wrote Long Day’s Journey Into Night. “These two stage-trained pros will share the stage, alone, for 90 minutes (no intermission). It will be “Acting Olympics” for these guys.”
The post gained the attention of Duell’s former on-screen uncle, GH’s Cameron Mathison (Drew), who commented with three celebratory clapping emojis.
