When Nelle first showed up in Port Charles, General Hospital (GH) fans were on the edge of their seats, wondering why she was so dead-set on bringing down Carly?
They couldn’t wait to find out Nelle’s (Chloe Lanier) secret. And then they did. And it was lame.
Nelle’s dad, Frank Benson, was Carly’s (Laura Wright) adoptive father, and he schemed with Jax (Ingo Rademacher) to steal Nelle’s kidney for Josslyn’s transplant, since Jake’s was no longer available, remaining, as it did, in a still-alive Jake.
That was it? Really? Nelle — not even Carly’s biological, but her adopted, sister — was the only match for Joss on the entire planet?
And, yes, Nelle had every right to be pissed at her dad for selling her off for parts, but how is Nelle pretending to have slept with Sonny (Maurice Benard) supposed to make Nelle and Carly even?

It Won’t Help
Nah, reason 53% of you. Nothing could make Nelle more interesting. Ever since her introduction first sizzled than fizzled, your expectations have dipped to zero.
Nelle could be hiding a variety of whoppers — she’s Carly’s long-lost daughter, she’s head of the Russian mob, she’s a man, baby — and it still won’t help viewers give any more of a damn about her than they already do.
I’ll Do Anything!
Yes, scream 46% of fans! A secret, a fib, even a little white lie! Anything that might give you a reason to care about this cheap-Carly knock-off. Sure, it was fun to see Carly get a taste of her own medicine, with the ingenue she trusted and took into her home seducing her husband (kind of). What goes around, comes around, Caroline.
But, ever since, she’s been super-blah, hanging out with Michael (Chad Duell). A nice, juicy secret is just what the doctor ordered!
