Few people realize how long Laura Wright has been a soap star and how many connections she has.
The General Hospital (GH) actress got her start on Loving as Ally Rescott in 1991 and brought the character to New York when Loving morphed into The City in 1997. She eventually moved on to play Cassie Layne on Guiding Light, before taking over the role of Carly Corinthos.
However, during her ABC daytime days, she made one good friend right at the beginning who remains her pal today. Talk show phenomenon Kelly Ripa got her show biz start as Hayley Vaughan Chandler Santos on All My Children around the same time Wright started on Loving.

Since the two soaps taped in the same studio, Ripa and Wright became fast friends and that friendship is still going strong as evidenced by the shot Wright shared on Instagram this week.
