With the Super Bowl coming up this weekend, Pennsylvania native and former ABC soap star Kristen Alderson looks back at one of the best moments of her life with her beloved Philadelphia Eagles.
If you follow football, you know the Eagles are playing against the New England Patriots on Sunday and Alderson is getting into the spirit and ready for the game. She also looked back fondly at the time the Eagles made one of her biggest dreams come true.
In 2015, Alderson sang the National Anthem for the Eagles and remembered the moment on Instagram today, saying she got to live out her dream. She reminisced about how this one football team always reminded her of home no matter where she lived and how it could bring people together with team spirit.
This past year, her brother Eddie, who has been battling cancer, had to miss the season’s first game due to a hospital stay, but they did see a playoff game together.
No matter which team wins on Sunday, we know Alderson will always remember her Super Bowl moment and now you can see the entire thing in the video above.
General Hospital (GH) airs weekdays on ABC. Check your local listings for airtimes.
#tbt I don’t think there’s ever been a more exciting day than when I got to live out my dream and sing for my home team at their stadium. Being an @philadelphiaeagles fan means so much more than football. It unites us in a way that I’ve never seen in another city. When I see the @philadelphiaeagles symbol I think “HOME”, every time. I think of everyone I love and care about cheering, chanting, celebrating, and complaining TOGETHER.???? I think of becoming friends with strangers instantly because they’re Eagles fans. My brother was in the hospital for the first Eagles game this year. The toughest year of our lives, and the Eagles were there to give us something to cheer about. And by the grace of God, Eddie and I were able to go to a PLAYOFF Eagles game and watch them defeat the Falcons. We tailgated, we screamed, and we cried when they won. I’ll never forget what an amazing feeling it was for everything to come full circle like that. No matter what happens this Sunday, you have sooo much passion, appreciation, respect, and love behind you @philadelphiaeagles THANK YOU! Now let’s bring it home!!! #FLYEAGLESFLY
