Her on-screen mothering skills are often, shall we say, “debatable,” but no one can deny that General Hospital’s Kathleen Gati (Dr. Obrecht) has great maternal instincts off camera!
The fan favorite actress is sharing her elation over becoming a first time grandmother!
“I don’t even know where to start to express the profound fullness of my joy, the sheer and pure happiness…and the indescribable love my heart is feeling!!!,” Gati posted on social media. “It is with truly such a deep and powerful sense of pride that I share with you all…that my beautiful, special and awesome grandson has entered this world!!!
“Thank you Derek and Valerie for giving me this incredible grandson! Wishing you three good health, happiness and sheer joy!!!!”
While Britta may not have gotten the right kind of nurturing from her mom, Gati is assuring her grandson that she plans to heap all kinds of affection on him!

Gati may have announced her news on social media platforms, but she plans on using more traditional forms of communication to show her friends and co-workers how happy she is over the new bundle of joy.
