Despite the fact that Nelle’s necklace fit perfectly with Nina’s and the fact that Nina found a picture of Nelle wearing the necklace as a child, as well as the fact that we saw the same child Nelle wear the necklace a year ago, many General Hospital fans still insist that Willow is Nina’s daughter and not Nelle.
Nelle Belongs To Nina On General Hospital
Well, now GH writers are setting the record straight. In an interview with Michael Fairman, co-head writer Dan O’Connor praises the character of Nelle (Chloe Lanier), a girl we love to hate as she just seems to do everything wrong.
“There are very few things that are as exciting on a soap as a character that makes you wonder what they are going to do next, and Chloe and Nelle provided that role with just gusto,” he said. Then, he admitted what the plans had been for Nelle for quite a while — to turn out to be Nina’s long-lost child.
“The truth is, the idea that Nelle was Nina’s daughter has been a part of the conception of that character, and over the last few years, the story evolved, and we ultimately got to reveal the truth to the audience.”
That truth has been known to viewers since last spring and now Nina (Cynthia Watros) finally knows. When GH returns from its impeachment break, Nina learns that Phyllis (Joyce Guy) indeed recognizes Frank Benson as the man she gave that baby girl to in Florida all those years ago.
Now, what will Nina do with all this new information? Will Nelle return? Will Nina get Carly (Laura Wright) not to fight her about seeing and knowing Wiley? Or will Nina get revenge on Carly and Jax (Ingo Rademacher) for keeping so much from her? General Hospital (GH) airs weekdays on ABC. Check your local listings for airtimes.
