Jason Morgan just scored a major victory by escaping from a jailhouse staffed with a corrupt police officer. But, actor Steve Burton has another reason to celebrate.

That’s because he was born on June 28, 1970, in Indianapolis, IN which means he is turning 49 years old today! The actor grew up in Cleveland, OH and is a great believer in paying it forward, especially where his fans are concerned. In 2012 he took part in a televised poker game and donated all his winnings to his fan club.

Although mostly known as a television actor, Burton is also a very talented voice actor. To millions of video game players, he’s most certainly recognized as the voice of Cloud Strife, a character in the popular Kingdom Hearts franchise.

Burton’s first acting gig was the syndicated sitcom Out of This World, on which he made 60 appearances as Chris Fuller.  A small part on Who’s the Boss soon followed. His first foray into soap operas was a recurring character named Harris Micheals on Days of Our Lives.

But, it is, of course, the role of Jason Quartermaine (Morgan) for which Burton is most known to daytime viewers. He joined the series in 1991 and stayed until 2012. A brief stint on The Young and the Restless as Dylan McAvoy was next. In 2017, Burton returned to Port Charles and has been at his fictional home ever since.
