Ambitions returns for seven new episodes on OWN starting next week. Viewers can expect to see a nice addition to the cast later in the second half of the season. General Hospital alum Rick Hearst will appear in an upcoming episode on the prime time sudser as a savvy attorney.
From General Hospital to Primetime Player
“We have a most special guest star in multi-Daytime Emmy winner Rick Hearst (ex-Ric, GH),” Jamey Giddens, Ambitions creator and executive producer tells Soap Hub, raving about the casting of the soap veteran. “He shows up in a very pivotal moment as Jerry Lanigan, a hotshot criminal attorney, who went to law school at Harvard with Stephanie Carlisle (Robin Givens) and Evan Lancaster (Brian J. White).
“This is another fun moment for these characters because you really get to see how Evan and Stephanie react to people that they’re actually friends with – friends that they don’t blackmail. Jerry is actually a true-blue friend to Stephanie and Evan. Rick comes in and he’s perfect in the part. He’s basically playing a white Johnnie Cochran. It’s a fun role and people will want to tune in for that.”
Playing a lawyer is certainly in Hearst’s wheelhouse. His GH character, Ric, was a legal eagle. Hearst is unique in that he’s played a role in all the soaps currently on the air. In addition to GH’s Ric, he’s played Whip on The Bold and the Beautiful and Matt on The Young and the Restless. The actor made his daytime debut as Scotty Banning on Days of Our Lives.
Don’t miss Hearst’s appearance on Ambitions set for Tuesday, December 4 at 10 p.m. EST on OWN (the Oprah Winfrey Network). General Hospital airs weekdays on ABC. Check local listings for air times.
