If there’s one thing that General Hospital viewers know about Daytime Emmy winner Nancy Lee Grahn, besides the fact that she kills it as Alexis on a daily basis, it is that she is incredibly proud of her daughter Kate. Now Grahn reveals she has yet another reason to beam with pride.

Nancy Lee Grahn Reveals Kate Has New Music

“Kate just graduated from USC, the Thornton School of Music, which is the number one pop program in the world,” Grahn enthusiastically tells Soap Hub. “She graduated in my home, gloriously, with a parade of friends and she has been working. She used her own money to produce a music video with her friends that [comes out today].”

While it surely wasn’t the graduation either mother or daughter thought would happen, as COVID curtailed graduations around the country this year, it was still an amazing achievement — and now this new song is another milestone to be celebrated.

“Her song, Untangling, is about her being diagnosed at 8 years old with OCD [Obsessive–compulsive disorder] and Tic Disorder. She does not tic when she sings and she wrote this song about what it’s like to have them,” explains the proud mom. “She used her own money to produce her music video.”

Soap Hub first spoke with Grahn about this a few weeks ago and she gave a preview of what music lovers can expect. “I’ve seen the first draft and it is so good and I’m really excited for people to see it and understand through her art, her music, what it is truly like to have OCD and Tic Disorder.”

This isn’t the first time the GH star has shared news about her daughter’s music career and longtime fans have followed news of Kate pretty much since birth. Now, Kate is poised to really take off and Grahn hopes their emotional investment in her daughter continues.

“I hope soap fans will follow her and help act as agents to promote her career because all of you actually helped in raising her,” she laughed.
