Legendary General Hospital star Genie Francis popped up on social media Thursday, updating fans about what she’s been up to since the stay-at-home order was put in place.
Genie Francis Checks In
The actress who brings Mayor Laura Collins to life recorded a video that was uploaded onto the Twitter account belonging to Linda Rohe of Coastal Entertainment (and retweeted by the star). In it, Francis updates her fans about how she’s been spending her time inside.
“I hope you are staying home and staying safe, I know I am,” Francis begins in the video. “This too will pass. It will come to an end and we will get through it and we will be fine.”
Francis also hopes fans are finding ways to enjoy some of the free time they now have with being sheltered in place—if possible—saying she is taking advantage of her own downtime to reconnect with some hobbies.
“I have the freedom to do as much of them as I want,” she shares. “I’ve also had a really nice time with my family—a lot of playing games, a lot of card games, a lot of laughing.”
There’s also been a lot of cooking going on in her household, which she says has been nice. “It’s been intense family time and I appreciate that,” Francis says. “I hope you can find a way to enjoy it too and just know we are all in this together, it will end soon and we will be fine. Take care.”
Francis is married to actor Jonathan Frakes and they have two children—25-year-old Jameson and 22-year-old Elizabeth.
Her alter ego is a little less involved with family these days as Laura has been on a collision course with Jordan’s plan to free Cyrus Renault from prison. While her son, Nikolas worries about her, Laura is relying on Robert and Kevin to get her through. General Hospital (GH) airs weekdays on ABC. Check your local listings for airtimes.
