Tomorrow, November 3, 2020, is indeed the most important election of our lifetimes. When newscasters say that, it is not at all hyperbole. In this election, we have the chance to elect a woman as vice president, among other things. And it will be the year women celebrate 100 years since gaining the right to vote, something Eden McCoy and General Hospital will teach us about today.
General Hospital Wants You To VOTE
When it comes time for brand-new 18-year-olds Joss and Trina to vote, they don’t see the point, but Carly (Laura Wright), Bobbie (Jacklyn Zeman), and Portia (Brook Kerr) make sure they learn the point as the soap flashes back 100 years where Beatrice Eckert, the (fictional) suffragist offers a history lesson.
McCoy is thrilled with the episode and posted behind-the-scenes photos to Twitter, saying: “Ahhh these picsSmiling face with heart-shaped eyes! the love, care, and work that went into this episode both off + onscreen was everything & I really hope u guys enjoy Monday’s show. I’m amazed as usual by @GeneralHospital wardrobe, hair/makeup, & writing teams who made this possible. Vote!”

While McCoy and co-star Sydney Mikayla (Trina) are 17 years old and cannot vote in this year’s election, it must still be a thrill to be a part of it encouraging people — and women — to drop those ballots off if they still have one (do NOT use the mail at this point) or get to the polls tomorrow to let their voices be heard.
