General Hospital Recap: Aunt Stella Vs. Ryan Chamberlain

General Hospital RecapGeneral Hospital Recap

The General Hospital recap for Tuesday, June 4 features Ryan making a surprise concession and the “circle of life” concept symbolized through a cloud of fireflies. It turned out, Morgan and Oscar BOTH loved fireflies. (Did Oscar love penguins?)

The mysterious fluid injected into Ryan’s (Jon Lindstrom) I.V. induced a mild seizure but Finn (Michael Easton) and Elizabeth (Rebecca Herbst) were on hand to intervene. After stabilizing, Ryan was taken for tests that determined an allergic reaction to medication was the cause of his attack. (So much for a whodunit mystery.)

Seeing a firefly led Sonny (Maurice Benard) and Carly (Laura Wright) to reminisce about Morgan and how he tried to befriend them and Pied Piper them into the house when he was a young boy. Later, they tried to console Josslyn who feared that she would never get over Oscar’s passing.

In Tanzania, Drew (Billy Miller) comforted a distraught Kim (Tamara Braun) who was unsure how to say goodbye to their son.

Stella (Vernee Watson) insisted on speaking to Ryan and her speech about Ryan being fated to donate his kidney (and being damned to hell if he refused) seemed to convince Ryan to consent, though he insisted it wasn’t her diatribe that persuaded him.

With Curtis (Donnell L. Turner) and Finn as witnessed Ryan sign the organ donation papers. He did wonder if Finn would let him die on the operating table.

Sonny and Carly visited Morgan’s grave, bringing his favorite flowers, and were pleased when they spotted a number of fireflies fluttering near the headstone.

At the same time, back at Sonny’s, Josslyn (Eden McCoy) and Cameron (William Lipton) caught a firefly and each made a wish before releasing it back into the night sky.
