The General Hospital recap for Tuesday, January 29 features Sonny making one of the hardest decisions of his life.

Carly (Laura Wright) and Sonny (Maurice Benard) decided to talk to Griffin (Matt Cohen), who told them that Mike (Max Gail) will lash out at the people he loves the most.

He also said the world with Yvonne that Mike has created in his head is what keeps him grounded in a safe space.

Sonny finally realized he had to let Mike go and told him he could go live at the care center with Yvonne. Mike happily packed his bags and Sonny made sure to slip a photo of the two of them in his suitcase, hoping Mike would remember happier times.

Sam (Kelly Monaco) told Jason (Steve Burton) they needed to break up already, but quickly said this would be a cover for her to join Dawn of Day to find out what’s really going on with Shiloh (Coby Ryan McLaughlin).

As for Kristina (Lexi Ainsworth), she wasn’t sure if she could trust this group any longer, but then said sure, and invited Alexis (Nancy Lee Grahn) to a seminar that night.

Alexis had already had an interesting time with Julian (William deVry) when she tried to convince him to get back together with Kim (Tamara Braun). Julian told her the truth–that his love life ceased being her business a long time ago.

Lulu (Emme Rylan) struggled to remember who attacked her, but it was also too traumatic for the young woman. She ended up in physical pain and Ryan (Jon Lindstrom) was right there to agree that forgetting could be a good thing.

Later, Ava (Maura West) and Laura (Genie Francis) bonded over coffee, while Ryan got a call that something is amiss with Kevin over at Ferncliff.

General Hospital (GH) airs weekdays on ABC. Check your local listings for airtimes.
