The General Hospital recap for Thursday, June 25, 2020, features the fourth of a five-day, five-episode marathon of all things Jason and Sam. On today’s show, the couple became engaged…again. And not for the final time. But, we also had Sonny and Brenda and it was glorious.
General Hospital Recap Highlights
Jason (Steve Burton) and Sam (Kelly Monaco) spent most of July 21, 2011, in a tizzy. The former’s careless trusting of Maxie (Kirsten Storms) with a recently purchased engagement ring resulted in the bauble being lost. The latter worried about what the fancy dinner Jason had planned really meant.
Surely it meant that he was going to propose. And if he does, Sam says that she’ll be happy…but she’d really like Alexis’s (Nancy Lee Grahn) blessing. And she got it. And she also got squeals of approval from an overly-delighted Molly (Haley Pullos).
Later that night, Sam joined Jason on a rooftop and he proposed. But before she said yes, Sam wanted to get a few things straight. She didn’t NEED to marry Jason. If he was asking because he thought that’s what she needed. he could retract the offer. But Jason was resolute. He wanted to marry the woman who had captured his heart.

He also wanted to get her an engagement ring worthy of her and their love…but the chrome nut he brought along with him would have to suffice for the time being.
Just Like Old Times
Meanwhile, as Jason and Sam’s love story was heating up, Sonny (Maurice Benard) and Brenda’s (Vanessa Marcil) was rapidly cooling – and practically freezing over. He refused to give up the power he wielded as a mob boss in order to keep her. He loved her, he claimed, but he loved his status more.
Brenda cried, handed over her wedding and engagement rings (yes, they were actual rings), and walked out – determined to make a life for herself and her son, Alec, away from Sonny’s influence and dangerous life.
While Carly (Laura Wright) commiserated with Sonny over his loss, Brenda accepted the offer of a lift from Jax (Ingo Rademacher) and the two exes – with Alec in tow – set off for Rome. And Brenda invited Jax to stay with them. It was a development that Sonny was none too happy about. General Hospital airs weekdays on ABC. Check your local listings for airtimes.
