The General Hospital recap for Thursday, October 8, 2020, features the town turning out in droves to pay tribute to Michael “Mike” Corinthos Sr. and the son who sacrificed so much to ensure his pop’s well-being.
General Hospital Recap Highlights
Though it pained them greatly, Sonny (Maurice Benard) and Carly (Laura Wright) managed to greet each and every entrant who arrived at the chapel to say goodbye to Mike.
As the memorial began, Michael (Chad Duell) took to the podium, extolled his grandfather’s virtues, and reminded everyone that the day was intended as a celebration of Mike.
Remembrances Aplenty
His testimonial was followed by Olivia’s (Lisa LoCicero), and she in turn was followed by Ava (Maura West) who spoke on behalf of Avery. Elizabeth (Rebecca Herbst) was the next to speak, and she recalled the advice he would offer her during her teenage years.
Brando (Johnny Wactor) remembered that halcyon summer he spent with Mike and the life lessons that had been imparted: First, family matters. Second, a person’s time on Earth is finite. And third, everyone makes mistakes…its what you learn from them that counts.
Jason’s (Steve Burton) speech was full of praise for the courage and humility that Mike displayed in his desire to make amends with Sonny. Likewise, he praised Sonny for his decision to support Mike in his declining years.
Stella (Vernee Watson) lauded Mike for his generous spirit and she applauded the relationship that he and Sonny were able to cultivate by the time his end arrived.
Following further remembrances from Sam (Kelly Monaco) and Carly, Sonny took to the floor, saluted his father, and expressed regret that it had taken him so long to forgive Mike his earlier transgressions.
A Late Arrival
Afterward, once Josslyn (Eden McCoy) had bid Mike adieu with song and the attendees had decamped for the Metro Court, Sonny sought a moment alone. As he began to admonish himself for his treatment of Mike, his father’s spirit appeared and assured him that, in the end, he had done everything right.
Off that cathartic release, Sonny readied himself to join the others only to be stopped in his tracks by Dante’s (Dominic Zamprogna) sudden arrival! General Hospital airs weekdays on ABC. Check your local listings for airtimes.
