The General Hospital recap for Friday, June 19, 2020, features the final of a five-day, five-episode marathon of all things Sonny and Carly. In today’s special flashback, Carly unleashes her fury at Sonny over the death of their (then) only child together.

General Hospital Recap Highlights

The death of a child is supposed to be the hardest thing that a parent could ever suffer through. However, not only does Carly (Laura Wright) have to live with the knowledge that her youngest son is dead, but she also has to face the fact that her own husband (and the boy’s father) may be the person responsible for the killing.

Luckily for everyone involved, Sonny (Maurice Benard) is actually innocent…of this crime at least. It was really Olivia Jerome – who had been shot dead way back in 1990 but somehow managed to crawl her way out of the grave – who planted the bomb that (seemingly) claimed Morgan’s (Bryan Craig) life.

But the denizens of Port Charles haven’t figured that one out – yet. Instead, everyone thinks that Sonny’s man is responsible…including Sonny himself. And Carly isn’t too happy about that fact.

Bad News Travels Fast

Dante (Dominic Zamprogna) broke the news of Morgan’s passing to Michael (Chad Duell), who in turn read Sonny the riot act and then informed Monica (Leslie Charleson) and Tracy (Jane Elliot). Dante then let Lulu (Emme Rylan) in on the news…and confessed his fear that he may have to arrest his father for the crime.

Meanwhile, Ava (Maura West) took it upon herself to tell Kiki (Hayley Erin) and the young woman was left feeling all kinds of guilty. After all, she had been poised to break up with Morgan and begin dating Dillion (Robert Palmer Watkins).

And Ava was feeling SUPER guilty since it was her tampering with Morgan’s bipolar medication that had driven him into the manic state he was in on the night he died.

Forgive and Let Live

The episode’s one bright spot was Laura’s (Genie Francis) decision to throw caution to the wind, forgive Kevin (Jon Lindstrom) his trespass, and schedule a get-together. Sure, that relationship is going to cause her loads of heartache…but it seems worth it in the end. General Hospital airs weekdays on ABC. Check your local listings for airtimes.
